Highly effective partnership working has been key to the success of our school. Our partnerships with our children, their parents/carers, and their wider families, are highly valued, but we have also established a number of additional partnerships which have enhanced many different areas of our school’s work.
BDAT (Bradford Diocesan Academies Trust) is our key strategic partner, as we have been a member of the trust since October 2017, when we converted to academy status. Our governing body actively sought to find an academy trust whose vision and values closely matched those of our school and BDAT met this key requirement. All aspects of our school’s work are supported and enhanced through our partnership with the trust, yet at the same time, trust leaders allow our successful school the autonomy needed for governors, staff and most importantly our learners, to flourish. We work closely with the other schools in our trust. For example, we share a regular ‘virtual worship‘ with St. Johns CE Primary, have a linking schools partnership with Christchurch Academy and our school hosts BDAT Brass band with children joining us from Baildon CE Primary, Cullingworth Primary and Academy St James.
A strong relationship exists with the parish of Morton and Riddlesden and in particular St Luke’s Church: The Curate is a member of our LGB and he is a regular and welcome visitor to school, leading worship for pupils and the wider school community, both in school and in St Luke’s church. We also welcome regular visits from ‘Open the Book’, which is led by parishioners, with the support of both members of clergy.
We have also worked closely with the diocesan education team for a number of years, attending training events and conferences and working alongside our designated diocesan advisors.
The Zephaniah Trust is a Bradford-based Christian charity, whose motto is to ‘spread light into dark corners’; their values closely align with their own and a close relationship has been established with them. Workers within the trust are welcome visitors within the school, whether that be to lead collective worship, support residentials or lead story, craft and poetry sessions.
CLiKS (Christian Links in Keighley Schools) is a more locally based Christian charity which provides workshop opportunities for KS2 learners across the Keighley area at key points within the academic year. ‘Re:wind to Christmas’ and ‘Re:wind to Easter’ workshops provide children with the time and space to participate in a range of reflective sessions to deepen their understanding of key themes.
