Admissions

Children can begin school at the beginning of the year in which they are 5, either part time or full time, but they must be full time at the beginning of the term during which they have their fifth birthday. 

  • Children born between 1st September 2012 and 31st August 2013 will begin in the reception class in September 2017.
  • Children born between 1st September 2013 and 31st August 2014 will begin in the reception class in September 2018.

Parents are welcome to visit the school and to add their child's name to our database at anytime. All children on our database, along with their parents, will be invited to visit the school in the Autumn Term prior to starting school, eg. those children due to start in September 2017 will be invited to visit in November 2016. Application for a place is made to the Education Authority by the January before your child is due to start in reception. Places are confirmed in April/May.

 

Admissions Policy

East Morton CE Primary School is a Voluntary-Controlled school and as such, Bradford Local Authority is the admission authority for the school and deals with our applications.  The school is popular and oversubscribed and when there are more applicants than available places, the LA’s admission policy is used to determine which applicants will be given a place.

Pupil Transfers

When a parent requests a change of school, wherever possible this should be done at the start of a school term thus avoiding disruption to the teaching programme.
